Sweet Addiction!

I LOVE desserts! That was made even more clear last week when I decided to not eat added sugars for the week. Ouch! Started off okay, a little grumpy at first, then I felt GREAT! I (and my husband) were surprised to see what a difference it made. Even little things that usally erk me (like last minute plans changing for a silly reason :) seemed to just roll off my shoulders! It was much easier to focus and be productive - not exagerrating!

Then Friday came and I slipped up. Again, not exaggerating, I felt it. My stomach was a little uneasy, but the shocker was I noticed myself starting to "feel" down. Not because I messed up, but because whatever those "pure, white crystals" were doing it my body was not worth my few moments of glorious chewing, and tasteful indulgence.

So, another week. I'm trying it again. It does take time because I don't want to cut sugar out just to fill it with something equally bad (high fat-proccessed-empty foods). I loaded up on some veggies at a local farm (10$ for a box - and they let you choose what you want!), that's Otsuji farms! And for a Valentine's treat, I'm trying a simple variation of a RAW cheesecake. First attempt at a raw dessert. I've tasted other people's hardwork in making delicious raw treats....but I'm not convinced my time and budget can afford such a treat. We'll find out!

The original recipe is Blackforest Chocolate Cheesecake, but I'm trying this simpler variation I found, Just Like Cheesecake, I'm pretty excited about it, and will let you know how it goes.

Ps. Little update: My raw almond milk turned out great (I've made it before), but I completely FORGOT about my almond cheese and let it ferment too long :( Next time!
